Pump Performance improvement

The hydraulic design of HBP 80x50x250 with regards to the existing Pump performance is investigated in this report. This design assumes the Impeller meridional section to reduce the diameter, which is unconventional and introduces some difficulties due to the flow cross section area rising too steeply. As a benchmark, the existing impeller is analyzed with the new impeller design Parameter and performance are studied using
CFD. Next, modifications are proposed to improve the hydraulic performance in the existing meridional cross section and these are then verified numerically. Finally the new Impeller and Casing with new Parameter is designed and the difficulties arising from this approach are presented and discussed.
